Good dentistry is invisible when it comes to safety — you should never have to think about it, because we already have. As a specialist-led clinic, we hold our sterilization and infection-control standards to a hospital-grade level, and we believe patients have a right to know exactly how they're protected. Here is what happens behind the scenes at every visit.

Sterilization: B-Class Autoclave, B-Cycle

Every reusable instrument passes through a strict, staged process before it ever reaches you:

1. Disinfection — instruments are first disinfected immediately after use. 2. Cleaning — they are thoroughly cleaned to remove all debris. 3. Packing — clean instruments are sealed into sterilization pouches. 4. Sterilization — the pouched instruments are sterilized in a B-class autoclave running a B-cycle. 5. Sealed storage — sterilized pouches are stored sealed until the moment of use, so the sterile field is never broken before your appointment.

The B-class distinction matters. A B-class autoclave with a vacuum B-cycle is the highest classification of steam steriliser — the same standard used in hospital surgical settings. Unlike simpler autoclaves that can only reliably sterilise solid, unwrapped instruments, a B-cycle removes air so steam penetrates hollow, wrapped, and complex instruments completely. It is the difference between "sterilised on the surface" and "verifiably sterile throughout" — and it is what we use for everything, every time.

Cross-Infection Control

Sterile instruments are only part of the picture. Between every patient:

All clinical surfaces are disinfected, and high-touch areas — handles, controls, light grips — are covered with single-use barrier membranes that are removed and replaced fresh for each patient. This means the surfaces around you were never touched during someone else's treatment. Combined with sterile, pouched instrumentation and standard clinical protocols, it closes the loop on cross-contamination: there is no path for infection to travel from one patient to the next.

Radiation Safety

Accurate treatment — especially implants and complex rehabilitation — depends on diagnostic imaging, and we take radiation safety seriously. Modern dental radiography already uses very low doses, and we follow the ALARA principle (As Low As Reasonably Achievable): images are taken only when clinically necessary, with appropriate protection, and never routinely "just in case." Diagnostic imaging is a safe, essential part of planning your care correctly — and we use it deliberately, not reflexively.
